Location: Narendra Nagar
This 3,000-year old cave on the Badrinath-Kedarnath route is among many in the Himalaya that are said to have been the resting abodes of different sages. It was home to sage Vashishtha, chief priest of Ram and many other kings. The Ganga rushes over rocks beyond tall trees that sway in the wind making the setting as ancient and natural as it must have been eons ago. It is easy to imagine that a great rishi performed penance here. Going inside a cave signifies going with in one’s inner conscience and this cave is often used for mediation. A Shivaling is installed inside.
